CPCS (Urgent Medicine Supply)
The NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) is a national Advanced Service to refer patients requiring low acuity advice, treatment, and urgent repeat prescriptions to community pharmacies The CPCS takes referrals to community pharmacy from NHS 111 (and NHS 111 online for requests for urgent supply), but there are plans for referrals to be accepted from other parts of the NHS in time
H.pylori test
A simple test to see if a patient has traces of the Helicobacter pylori bacteria in their stomach. The patient has to be referred to the chemist by the GP with a valid referral form, and the pharmacist will do the rest The patient’s result will be sent to the GP, positive or negative, to be kept on the patient’s medical records. If the result is positive, the patient will be advised to make an appointment with the GP immediately if a negative result is presented, the patient will be given diet and lifestyle advice with OTC medication where appropriate and advised to see the GP if symptoms persist. .

Free blood pressure checks and advice to achieve a healthier lifestyle Results of their check to be written in personal record cards provided to each patient
Flu vaccination
Performing flu vaccinations on patients who are eligible under the NHS, i.e. the elderly, pregnant women and patients with certain conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and asthma. This service excludes the administration of flu vaccination on young children The GP practice would be informed of a patient being vaccinated by post, fax or through NHS security email
New Medicine Service (NMS)
This service is for patients who have been newly prescribed medicine for any one of the following conditions:
• Asthma and COPD
• Type 2 diabetes
• Antiplatelet/ anticoagulant therapy
• Hypertension
This service consists of three stages. The first stage involves giving the patient information on their new medicine. In stage two, the patient will be asked how they are getting on with their medicines after one to two weeks and whether they are having any problems. Stage three involves the patient discussing how things are going with their treatment.

Needle exchange
Service for intravenous drug users to keep them safe whilst injecting. This service is a client-centred, confidential and non-judgemental service We provide clean sterile needles. syringes and containers for return of used equipment. Advice on sexual health, STIs, HIV and hepatitis C transmission and Hepatitis B immunisation. Service also involves appropriate referral to other health and social care professionals and specialist drug and alcohol treatments service. We also provide steroid packs that contain needles used to inject non-prescribed anabolic steroids.

Dosette Service is an easy way of helping you, or someone you care for, organise and take medicines at the right time every day, by pre-packing your medication into our specially designed blister pack
